Holden Commodore Looks Set for 14th Consecutive Number One

With more than 40,000 sales by the end of November, the Holden Commodore is set to record its 14th consecutive year as Australia's number one best-seller.

Commodore commands 45.4 per cent of the large car market (at the end of November) ahead of the Ford Falcon with 32 per cent.

Extra reasons to chill the champagne at Holden are remarkable sales performances by the Cruze small car and Captiva SUV.

Holden says Captiva sales are up 98 per cent with 10,367 sold by the end of November. Captiva is now our third best-selling medium-size SUV behind the segment-dominating Toyota duo the Kluger and Prado.

In November, Cruze, with 2,274 retails, outsold the Hyundai i30 and Mitsubishi Lancer to be our third most popular small car (behind the Toyota Corolla and Mazda3). Last month was the best-ever Cruze sales month since the stylish newcomer was launched in June.

Overall, Holden sales in 2009 are up more than 17 per cent
